Being entrepreneurs

Today started our school’s Entrepreneur project called “Patamäki corporation”. 3^rd  and 4^th graders begin and the rest of the school will follow afterwards.

The goals of the project are:

•       create a learning game and side products

•       co-operative working and experience how to plan, make and marketing a product

•       how to establish and work in the company

•       waking up the inner entrepreneur

•       creativity

Tools used: MS One Note, Excell, Kodu, Live@edu

The day started by discussing what is it all about in entrepreneurship. What kind of business exists and what is the difference between public and private sector. How do we create jobs and extra value by doing business? The concepts of profit and loss became familiar. We demonstrated one chain of products life by thinking one students T-shirt. What is the route to his closet and how many possible operators is dealing on the way. Then we watched a video where two business men told their story about being entrepreneurs. Everybody listened carefully and found couple of things common to entrepreneurs: being independent and do what you are interested and certain courage to do things. We talked about believing oneself and having dreams also.

Next time we continue by making business plans.
